AD PERPETUAM REI MEMORIAM

In  the  name  of  the  Most  Holy  Trinity  –  the  Father,  the  Son  and Holy  Spirit  –  in  the  city  of  Sydney,  in  the  Parish  of  Saint  Vincent de Paul Catholic      Church,      which      was      established      in MDCCCLXXXVI.   In   the   third   year   of   the   Pontificate   of   his Holiness  Pope  Francis,  at  the  Eighteenth  hour  on  Sunday  the  First of   November,   Solemnity   of   All   Saints;   his   grace,   the   Most Reverend  Anthony  Fisher  OP,  Archibishop  of  Sydney,  by  the  grace of  God  and  of  the  Holy  See,  in  the  presence  of  the  Parish  Priest, Reverend   Father   Melvin   Llabanes,   solemnly   BLESSED   this Church  and  CONSACRATED  its  new  Altar,  according  to  the Rites of Roman Pontifical. We  gratefully  acknowledge  the  work  of  our  past  and  present  Clergy, Parishioners,  and  indeed  many  who  have  helped  to  bring  the  Parish to  this  day.  We  invoke  God’s  abundant  graces  and  blessings  upon  all our Benefactors. The  celebration  of  the  Blessing  of  this  Church  and  the  Consecration of  its  new  Altar,  took  place  with  the  assistance  of  many  presbyters and  faithful.  Placed  inside  the  altar  is  the  relic  of  our  Patron  Saint, Saint  Vincent  de  Paul,  a  priest  who  dedicated  himself  to  serving  the poor.  He  was  renowned  for  his  compassion,  humility  and  generosity and  his  popularly  known  as  ‘The  Great  Apostle  of  Charity’.  To  him and  to  the  Blessed    Virgin  Mary,  help  of  Christians,  Patroness  of Australia, we entrust ourselves.
